Redline CuV - Vintage Copper Interconnects

The Redline CuV has been a long time in the planning and design stage, It's based around three different types of vintage copper wire from Britain, US and USSR - all in natural fibre insulation - that have been collecting over several years:

- British copper likely dating from 1930s.  20 awg solid core in double-cotton insulation - the copper is very shiny and immaculately smooth after all these years.  This has a big full sound and rounds out the bass end. (Teal wire on wooden reel in last image).

- 100% genuine Western Electric tin-plated copper in waxed silk insulation - wonderful mid-range as WE is famous for with good separation of vocal and lead instruments.  (Purple and orange coils are shown)

- USSR copper Litz in silk insulation - a very thin stranded Litz wire from a former USSR factory (actually came from the Ukraine) - two strands of it are used in the Redline to bring out detail and define the high end.  (Deep blue wire on blue reel).

- Cable is matched with special edition RCAs kindly made-up for Aurealis Audio by ETI Research. The RCAs use older gold-plated red top plugs with a more recent Link barrel design.

- Cable is double shielded with aluminium foil and carbon conductive shielding. This is matched with a premium series Techflex sleeving which complements the red top RCAs to define the Redline design.

- The geometry of this cable is based on the same geometry used in the R1 Dragon, but some changes have been necessary so that it could be shielded effectively without impacting on the sound quality. This allows the cable to be used anywhere in the system.

Overall the sound is open and very transparent with excellent layering of the music.  It is has the smooth rich presentation that is the signature of good quality copper.

There are two pairs of cable s( 1 metre length) available for demo-ing. Please use the contact page if you'd like to order or borrow a pair for trialling in your own system.

Please note it is still possible to source the WE wire and the USSR Litz but the British wire is limited to the small reel shown in the third image. Once it is gone, a second version of the cable  will use a different pure copper wire in cotton insulation (possibly Duelund or Jupiter).

Pricing will be similar to the Duelund 50 interconnects, and both the Duelund 50 and Duelund 100 interconnects will now be "retired".
